Life is not dull
black
Nor is it pearly
white
And that’s the way
it’ll stay
When I see no
rainbows
Colouring the
skies
I’ll live with the
endless shades of grey
Black is not
So hot for me
Its darkness
engulfs my soul
White’s not so
cool
Blinding sight
The bland blend
obscures, takes control
I can no longer
lean
On the illusive
arc
It’s but a myth,
untrue
Its finite septet
Not encompassing
enough
To colour my life
anew
My life
It’s a diverse
canopy
Bigger than the
sky I see
Not black, not
white,
Nor rainbows
No, they’re not
the ones for me.
Why do I need you
To render my
dreams
Restrictions don’t
hold sway
I’ll have an
unlimited palette
When I learn to
embrace
The infinite
shades of grey
