ESSENSUAL SPRING

The sound of tinkling laughter
Cascading through her lips
The infant brook gushing forth
Babbles, gurgles and trips.
On the air currents that eddy around
The happy sounds that ring
A pure and joyous symphony
For me, that's the sound of spring.

She is the heady fragrance
Of five jasmines that bloom
By sultry days and balmy nights
An alluring siren, I assume
Who beckons me to mysteries
Of tuneful melodies she sings
That ensnare  me, oh so soulfully
For me, that's the scent of spring.

The dainty feet that skip and run
Barely touching down
On the carpet of fallen leaves
In my senses I drown.
The fresh grown grass of velvet
Caress her as she flings
Down on the sea of daisies
For me, that's the feel of spring.
